Manchester United will be looking forward to next season’s Champions League following a strong finish to the domestic campaign.

Despite their loss in the Europa League final, they have been doing fairly well in the post-Mourinho era.

In fact, the 2020/21 was particularly good for the Red Devils, who posted 74 points, second only to Man City, who accumulated 86.

So, what’s next for the team? Well, for one, if you do place bets on websites like, you will probably want to learn a thing or two about any pending transfers in the team.

There are three cheap and effective midfielders Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United could consider to sign.

Yves Bissouma

Since he joined Brighton in 2018, Yves Bissouma has been a viable candidate for the Red Devils. The mid-fielder proved that he is more than capable to play for the bigger teams this season.

His impressive performances have been noticed by several teams along with United.

Bissouma has been instrumental to hinder incoming attacks and lay the ground work for his team to go forward. Brighton conceding the least amount of goals in the second half of the table is a testament to it.

He has been doing well in terms of pass success rate with over 87%. If there is a player that can truly balance the midfield, that is no doubt Bissouma.

Franck Kessie

Looking beyond the English Premier League, there are many great options to choose from.

One such option is Franck Kessie, who plays for AC Milan. He has been looking to join the club for a while now.

The Ivory Coast international has been racking up solid performances in the middle of the park, defending his goal. To go with that, Kessie has scored 14 goals in all competitions this season.

With Matic looking past his prime, Kessie at 24 could be an ideal replacement.

His contract is set to expire at the end of next season and Milan are yet to sign an extension. This presents a perfect opportunity for Solskjaer to swoop in.

Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa

Next on the list we have Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa from Fulham. Although, this might raise a few eyebrows.

While Fulham have not made much of a mark this season and got relegated, Anguissa’s performance has not suffered.

United fans should remember his all round performance at Craven Cottage back in January. Playing against the midfield trio of Fred, Pogba and Bruno Fernandes the Cameroonian showed what he was capable off.

His delightful throughball saw Fulham open the score within five minutes off kick-off. Throughout the game he found pockets of space, dribbled past his opponents with ease.

He may be a little restricted based on what his teammates can pull off, but overall, a Premier League team should look to swoop him.

Manchester United will definitely benefit from securing Anguissa. His command and organisation could add another dimension to the club’s midfield.
