Manchester United asked to pay at least €65m to land Jules Kounde
According to Spanish outlet Diario de Sevilla (h/t Sport Witness), Sevilla have lowered the asking price for French defender Jules Kounde amidst Manchester United interest.
The Red Devils are keen on a new defender and the Frenchman is one of the players on our list. The 22-year-old is coming off an excellent season that has seen him included in France’s squad for this summer’s Euros.
Kounde recently admitted that he could be on the move this summer. With a host of clubs keen on his services, he will not be short of options.
The Frenchman will however not come cheap and has a release clause of €80million. Sevilla for their part are willing to take a hit and will accept around €70m for Kounde.
Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are keen to land Kounde and are ready to offer players in part exchange to lower the asking price. According to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Sport Witness), Sevilla sporting director Monchi is not in favour of any player trades involving Koundé.
The same outlet goes on to add that Sevilla could accept a fee as low as €65m. While it is debatable if the news is true, it augurs well for United, who are keen on the defender.
As things stand, it is evident that United will need to make a cash-only deal to secure the Frenchman. However, it remains to be seen if it will be enough to swap Sevilla’s head.
