“I love this game”- Man United legend joins fans in poking fun at Man City after Champions League defeat

Manchester United legend Patrice Evra pokes fun at City after they bottle the Champions League final

Manchester United legend Patrice Evra piled on the misery for Manchester City after they lost the Champions League final to Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola’s side had at one point this season looked on course to win the treble. Having already been dumped out of the FA Cup by Thomas Tuchel’s side, the German once again got the better of his Catalonian rival yesterday night.

Despite their millions, City is still waiting for their first European triumph. Evra joined United fans in making merry at our local rivals’ heartbreak. The Frenchman took to Instagram to post a morphed picture that was hilarious, to say the least.

Evra’s image showed Sir Bobby Charlton and the Champions League trophy, with Evra’s face superimposed upon the player alongside him. Neither of them is shown to be able to find City’s name on the European Cup.

A Champions League winner himself, Evra has more European trophies with United than City have in their whole history. Unlike City, we know how to get the better of Chelsea in a major final.

Given our heartbreaking loss in the Europa League final, the last thing fans would have wanted to see was City scale the summit of European football. While celebrating a Chelsea win is a sobering thought, it was the lesser of the two evils.

Fans too took to Twitter to mock City for yet again falling short. We take a look at a few of them below.
