Chelsea could prove an unlikely ally as Manchester United pursue Jadon Sancho

According to Eurosport (h/t The Metro), Chelsea could aid Manchester United in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils have been long-term admirers of the young English international. Missing out on him last summer has done little to dispel our interest going into the upcoming transfer window.

With Dortmund ready to sell, United already have enough reasons to make their move. Thanks to Chelsea, they mind find it a tad easier now.

Chelsea’s stance on Callum Hudson-Odoi could pave the way for United to sign Jadon Sancho

The Blues are ready to part ways with winger Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer.

The player is keen on playing first-team football, a tall order at Chelsea given the presence of Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner ahead of him in the pecking order.

According to the report, Chelsea could loan Hudson-Odoi to Dortmund, where he could have better opportunities to prove himself. While they favour a temporary arrangement, a permanent deal has not been ruled out.

The Germans appear to be preparing for life after Sancho. Apart from Hudson-Odoi, they are also keeping tabs on Jonathan Ikone and Raphinha. The latter is also on United’s radar.

Sancho for his part is keen on joining Manchester United this summer. United are confident of landing him for a price of around £75m. Chelsea too were keen on Sancho but it would appear that their actions would, in fact, push the player closer to a switch to Old Trafford.

Not that we would complain.

As things stand, Daniel James is our lone specialist right-winger. Adding Jadon Sancho into the mix will take our attack to a whole new level.

The 21-year-old has all the makings of a world-beater. Signing him could prove to be a masterstroke for United.
