Manchester United icon David Beckham inducted into PL Hall of Fame
Manchester United have a third inductee into the PL Hall of Fame in David Beckham. The Premier League confirmed the same via their Twitter handle as he became the eighth player to be handed that honour.
Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry were the first two inductees followed by Manchester United pair of Eric Cantona and Roy Keane. Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Denis Bergkamp were also inducted. ‘Becks’ becomes the third United-based player to get this honour.
A famed member of the class of 92’, Beckham worked his way from the academy to be handed a shot at first-team glory. The midfielder took the league by storm with his displays in England. He played a total of 264 games in the Premier League, scoring 62 and assisting 70.
He won the league a staggering 6 times and was also a part of the side that won the 1999 treble. His freekicks were the stuff of legends as Becks had made a name for himself. He exited United in 2003 to join Real Madrid. Currently, he is the owner of Inter Miami FC in the MLS.
Fans were happy to see their very own ‘Becks’ getting inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
