Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood have struck a chord at Manchester United
According to the Mirror, Manchester United star, Mason Greenwood is set to benefit from the continued presence of Edinson Cavani at Old Trafford.
The 34-year-old recently extended his contract ay United and will stay put after an impressive debut season in England. With 15 goals and six assists in 37 games, his contribution has been immense.
The Uruguayan is one of the finest strikers from the past decade and has enjoyed a fine career laden with goals and trophies. His impact at United also extends to activities off the field.
Cavani has built up an excellent rapport with Mason Greenwood, one of our finest young talents. The 19-year-old is himself going through a purple patch and has scored often of late.
Greenwood has benefitted from Cavani’s help on the training ground and the impact is slowly getting visible. United hope the teenager will blossom into our ace goalscorer under the Uruguayan’s guidance.
This will also aid United financially. Signing the likes of Erling Haaland and Harry Kane is not cheap and developing Greenwood presents United with a financially viable alternative.

Cavani has also shown he has Greenwood’s back if it comes to that. The Uruguayan squared off against AS Roma duo Gianluca Mancini and Rick Karsdorp as they tried to intimidate the United wonderkid.
“There are times when you’re out there when I believe you need to protect and stand up for one of your team-mates.”
While scuffles are common on the field, Cavani’s intervention may well have saved the issue from escalating further. Clearly, the veteran’s experience is coming in hand.

Greenwood has a long way to go in his career and has the tools at his disposal to turn into an excellent player. Not many young players get to work alongside a striker who has seen it all.
The United starlet has been given a golden opportunity. It now remains to be seen if he will seize it.
