Transfer News: Boost for Manchester United as Barcelona to not go after Harry Kane

According to transfer news from Express, Barcelona are not planning to go after Manchester United target Harry Kane. The English striker was believed to be among the backup options for Barca but it has now been reported that Lautaro Martinez is the player they would go for if they fail to land Erling Haaland.

The Borussia Dortmund star is one of the best young forwards in the game today. A highly sought-after player, Haaland has attracted attention from some of the biggest names in European football.

Among those names are Barcelona, who are on the lookout for a striker. While the club initially wanted to bring back Neymar, his new contract at PSG means that this option is out of the window. That has led to Erling Haaland becoming the priority target for Barca.

However, with competition severe for Haaland, Barca kept some backup options and one of them was believed to be Harry Kane. The Spurs man has been a target for United as well.

Nonetheless, United can rest easy now as Lautaro Martinez is Barca’s backup option to Erling Haaland.
