Man United offered a huge chance to sign Atletico star Jan Oblak

Transfer News: Manchester United made aware of the chance to sign Jan Oblak

According to transfer news from TEAMtalk, Manchester United have been given a chance to sign Jan Oblak. It has been claimed that transfer intermediaries have made Manchester United aware that they will get an opportunity to land the Atletico Madrid star.

The Slovenian international replaced the impressive Thibaut Courtois at Atletico and has since developed into one of the best in world football. He has since made 299 appearances for the Spaniards, keeping 158 clean sheets.

United have been tracking Oblak for a long time now in spite of having both David de Gea and Dean Henderson in their ranks. The former faces an uncertain future while the latter is certainly talented.

Henderson appears to have established himself at least for the time being as the United No.1. However, bringing in Oblak would be a massive upgrade.

Now, they can get the chance to do that as sources have made United aware that they can try to push for a deal this summer. While he does have a mammoth £104million release clause, it is understood that interested clubs like Manchester United can pay lesser.

Atleti made a loss in terms of revenue in 2019-20 but they are likely to lose further this season. That means Oblak will be entertaining approaches that come from England.

It is clear that one of the two keepers at United could leave the club next summer. Both want to play as first choice and United might just have to bring in a keeper to replace either. Whether or not that is Oblak, remains to be seen.
