Team News: Manchester United squad to face Liverpool at Old Trafford
According to Manchester Evening News, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has an almost fully-fit squad to choose from as Manchester United gear up to face Liverpool.
The Red Devils welcome their arch-rivals to the Theatre of Dreams in a game that may make the news more for off-field activities than those on it.
This is thanks to the anti-Glazer protest organized to take place outside Old Trafford ahead of the kickoff. Fans have come out in force against the United owners last week and look set to do so again today.
There should, however, be no lack of fight on the pitch given the clubs’ intense rivalry with each other. Anthony Martial and Phil Jones are the only two first-team stars missing for the Red Devils.
Marcus Rashford has struggled with injuries of late. However, he was among those who were pictured at the team’s pre-match hotel on Saturday evening. The English international is a pivotal player in our attack.
Interestingly, Daniiel James was not amongst those seen arriving. The report, however, claims there is no reason to worry and that the Welshman may have arrived separately.
Manchester City could very well land the Premier League trophy if results go in their favour tonight. It will bring to an end a valiant but ultimately unsuccessful attempt by Solskjaer’s men for the title.
Liverpool, meanwhile, has endured a difficult season but still hold faint hopes of finishing in the top four. The Merseysiders cannot afford to drop points tonight. It promises to be an interesting matchup.
