Anthony Martial working towards returning to action with Manchester United
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United star Anthony Martial is closing in on returning to action.
The Frenchman injured himself during international duty last month and has not played for United since. It is unlikely that he will feature again this season.
The 25-year-old is moving freely and without a brace on his injured knee. While he is some way away from returning, it is nevertheless a positive sign.

Martial was seen in the Manchester district of Hale with his wife Melanie, on Wednesday. He was asked how his knee was recovering and he replied that he was feeling good.
The Frenchman has not featured for the club since the FA Cup clash against Leicester City on 21st March. With the Red Devils set to go all the way in the Europa League, there is a faint hope that he could yet feature this campaign.
A forgettable season!
Martial enjoyed his best campaign in a United jersey last season. He has however failed to carry it forward. His seven goals and eight assists in 36 appearances is a far cry from the chart-topping performances he put up last season. (h/t Transfermarkt)
United are currently in the market for a new striker. Martial is one of United’s top earners and has a contract that runs until 2024. Given his performances of late, it is fair to say that United are not getting their money’s worth.
Whether this will prompt the club to offload him in the summer remains to be seen
