Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer comes clean regarding his comments on Roma
According to Eurosport, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has opened up on his post-Granada comments that have caused anger among the AS Roma fanbase.
Speaking to the press following United’s quarterfinal win, the Norwegian claimed that he has not watched Roma much and is not very familiar with the Italian giants.
This was seen as an affront by the Roma supporters, who believed the United boss was looking down on them. The matter appears to have fired them up, leading to posters against Solskjaer being erected at Roma’s training facility.
Solskjaer has now come out and revealed that his comments were not meant to be disparaging in any way. It would certainly appear that the United manager’s words were taken out of context.
“That’s maybe my bad”
While the Norwegian may not have had much reason to watch Roma’s games then, he has certainly done his homework since. Solskjaer is now well aware of the challenge posed by the Italians and is relishing the clash against an iconic European side.
Both United and Roma have much riding on the game. The Red Devils faltered at the same stage last season and will hope to go one better this time around.

The Red Devils have faced off against the Italians six times in a competitive setup so far. They have won four of those games so far and are unbeaten in the last five games against Roma.
Hopefully, Solskjaer will give them more reasons to hate him once the tie comes to a close.
