Manchester United can sign Erling Haaland for £130m this summer
The Red Devils are in need of a striker and have unsurprisingly been linked with the 20-year-old Norwegian sensation. Having been aware of his talents since his emergence at Molde, the Red Devils are long term admirers of the young ace.
Despite being Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top transfer target, United have their work cut out in signing the Borussia Dortmund star.
With Ed Woodward gone, the onus on recruitment lies in the hands of Solskjaer, Football Director John Murtough and Technical Director Darren Fletcher.
All three are in agreement that the player would be an excellent fit at Old Trafford. Despite the lowered fee, United will still need to fork out a club record of £130m to land him.
With Edinson Cavani’s future far from clear, Untied may have no option but to dive into the market for a new striker. There are few better who can provide us with a better long-term solution than Haaland and signing him would be a given if not for the price.
Dortmund for their part are keen to keep the striker at Signal Iduna Park for the season. The decision could work in United’s favour given that the player’s release clause drops to £66m next year.
While it makes him affordable, United will have to still find another striker to hold the fort until then. Moreover, there is no guarantee that some other team may not swoop in for him by then.

United’s search for a new striker appears to have seen them take a closer look at the Bundesliga. Apart from Haaland, they have also been linked to Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Andre Silva.
While Dortmund may take a lower fee for Haaland, the number being quoted is not cheap. In fact, United may still find it difficult to fork out what the Germans are seeking for the 20-year-old.
