Fans react as Conor McGregor jokes about buying Manchester United

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor caught the eye of many on Twitter when he joked about buying Manchester United from the Glazers on Tuesday.

The Irishman’s comments came in the backdrop of the club’s exit from the European Super League. The breakaway league is in its death throes with a number of clubs involved pulling the plug.

But then whether he was even joking is the question. After all, he had admitted to the club’s official site back in 2019 that he is a United fan at heart.

The 32-year-old is worth $120 Million, a drop in the bucket of what United are valued at. However, he could partner with other investors and attempt a buyout as a conglomerate.

But for now, the Irishman looks to have tweeted in jest more than anything. At the time of writing this article, the post had received much attention, with it being retweeted 47000 times and receiving almost 350000 likes.
