Eric Bailly confirms he is back in Manchester United training

According to the club’s official site, Manchester United star Eric Bailly is back in training following his recent absence due to COVID-19.

The Ivorian tested positive for the virus while on International duty earlier this month. He has since missed five games for the club in all competitions.

Both Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have continued in defence during the Ivorian’s absence. Axel Tuanzebe too stepped in for Maguire against Granada and did well in the skipper’s absence.

Bailly posted a photo of him on Instagram that showcased his arrival at the AON Training Complex. It would be safe to assume that the 27-year-old is now back in contention.

This is welcome news for United as they look to end the season on a high. Not only do we have a good shot at winning the Europa League but also have a faint opportunity to topple Manchester City in the Premier League.

The last dance?

With Bailly’s contract set to expire next year, a decision will need to be made on his future. The player is hesitant to pen fresh terms owing to his reduced role in the first-team.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, however, is calm regarding the situation and has revealed that talks are still ongoing. Whether an agreement can be reached upon or the player is in the final days of his United stint remains to be seen.
