Transfer News: Arsenal enter the race for Manchester United linked Eduardo Camavinga

According to transfer news from Express, Arsenal have entered the race for Eduardo Camavinga, who is a target for Manchester United. The Rennes wonderkid is said to be the next hot prospect in Europe amidst links to Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.

The 18-year-old defensive midfielder burst onto the scenes in 2019 and enjoyed a spectacular season with Rennes, helping them qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

However, the Ligue 1 outfit have struggled to perform at the same level this term. Following the sacking of manager Julian Stephan, who played a crucial role in Camavinga’s rise at the club, the midfielder is now considering his future at the club.

United may have an overstacked midfield but the fact remains that not a lot of them are of great quality. Apart from Pogba and Fernandes, there are hardly any players who can provide the necessary creativity.

United suffered badly when Pogba was out injured which pointed to the lack of solid options in the middle for Solskjaer.

The 18-year-old midfielder is undoubtedly one of the hottest young prospects in the world. He has appeared 77 times for Rennes since making his debut for the club two years back. Camavinga has been touted to be the ‘next Patrick Vieira’ due to the similarity in their playing styles.

In all honesty, United could do with another quality central midfielder. Matic is past his prime and Fred is unreliable in some aspects. In such a situation, signing a talented teenager like Camavinga offers great long-term security.

However, they will have to work on a deal soon, with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea also said to be after him.
