Transfer News: Manchester United target Daryl Dike speaks out on his future
According to transfer news from Football League World, Manchester United target Daryl Dike has spoken out on his future. The Barnsley starlet has impressed a host of clubs such as Manchester United and Leeds United.
Daryl Dike is a 20-year-old American forward who plays for Barnsley on loan from Orlando City. He started out his youth career at Oklahoma and then went on to Virginia Cavaliers. After the draft, he was picked by Orlando City FC.
Last year, he made his debut for the senior side and went on to appear in 22 games, scoring 8 times. After the MLS season was wrapped up, he moved on loan to Barnsley in the Championship.
He has adjusted well to English football and has scored 8 goals in 15 appearances for them. The striker was also in appearance against Chelsea in the FA Cup.
Dike’s importance to Barnsley cannot be understated. The 20-year-old has played a key part in their rise up the table. The Tykes are currently in fifth position in the Championship, well within a playoff spot.
The youngster has grown leaps and bounds since his university days. He has already played in the MLS and the Championship at such a young age. A full international, he has 2 appearances for the USMNT already.
The American has spoken about his future after this season end and is said to open to a stay at Barnsley, provided they gain promotion to the Premier League. Barnsley have made it clear that they have no issue paying his release clause which means, a lot will depend on their promotion.

Dike is clearly an interesting prospect and is deserving of the attention he currently gets. However, he is some way off the ace striker the Red Devils are seeking. It will make more sense for the club to bring him on as a prospect rather than someone who goes straight into the first team.
