Owen Hargreaves wants Manchester United to sign Raphinha over Jadon Sancho

According to Yorkshire Evening Post, Owen Hargreaves has urged Manchester United to sign Raphinha instead of Jadon Sancho. The former United midfielder believes that the Brazilian could be a cheaper alternative to Sancho.

The 24-year-old has been an impressive addition to the newly-promoted Leeds United this season and has dazzled fans with his skills.

The Brazilian winger came on the Red Devils’ radar after his eye-catching performances for the Whites. He has produced 6 goals and assists each in the Premier League this season.

The 24-year-old has done fantastically this season for Leeds and has been one of their chief threats. His eye for a pass, those tricks, flicks and dribbles, everything he has done, have managed to catch the eye.

Manchester United’s interest in Sancho is a long drawn one. The club chased the Dortmund starlet over the course of 2020 but failed to match the valuation set by the German side.

United have tried various players on the right wing with moderate levels of success. To that end, Hargreaves feels that United should ditch the Sancho plan and try to sign Raphinha instead.

“A lot of people have played out on that right hand side and haven’t real found it. Jadon Sancho would be amazing. You think about Raphinha at Leeds and what he could do in this United team – there’s obviously levels, and you can’t always spend £100 million on a player.”

Hargreaves does make sense in what he is saying. Sancho will still cost United a fortune if they were to go after him again. Instead, the club could go for someone close to home in Raphinha.

The Brazilian might not cost as much as Sancho but he could be a fantastic addition to their attack and a long-term one as well.
