Solskjaer hopeful that Manchester United star Marcus Rashford will feature against Burnley
According to the club’s official site, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given an update on the availability of Marcus Rashford against Burnley.
The United striker has been nursing an injury and sat out of the game against Granada yesterday night. The club’s second top-scorer and assist-getter, his absence robs us of a major offensive threat. (h/t BBC)
Given that Edinson Cavani put us up 3-0 on aggregate early on, there was thankfully no need for Solskjaer to bring on Rashford.
The United boss remains hopeful that the English ace will be fit to return to Premier League action against Burnley. A win against the Potters will keep United’s faint hopes of winning the Premier League alive.
“We hope he is going to be ready. Today wasn’t about risking him and he was on the bench just in case.”
Solskjaer confirmed that Rashford is still struggling from a sore foot and is yet to recover completely. He has yet not confirmed if the player will be fit to feature this Sunday.
With Anthony Martial already out for the season, Rashford is United’s most potent frontman. The 23-year-old has the ability to change the game and has often proven to be our inspiration and game-winner.
His return will prove to be a massive boost for the club as we look to end the season on a high.

Solskjaer was right to not risk Rashford against Granada. The youngster’s injuries have been piling up of late and it is imperative that we rest him when possible.
Hopefully, he will not be rushed back into action and will be given the necessary time to recover and recuperate.
