Transfer News: Declan Rice interested in Manchester United transfer
According to Manchester Evening News, West Ham United star Declan Rice is interested in moving to Manchester United.
The 22-year-old has been one of the best players in his age group and has been critical in the Hammers’ bid for a top-four finish. Despite his age, his ability and leadership qualities make him stand out among his peers.
United have been monitoring Rice for some time now and it would appear the player too is doing his homework. According to the report, he asked United players about the club during the England national team’s World Cup qualifiers last month.
Sharing the room alongside the likes of Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Dean Henderson, it would not have been difficult for Rice to get information about United.
The 22-year-old spoke especially to both Shaw and Maguire, both key first-team defenders, about life at United. Both players have performed for the club on the pitch this season.
A major draw for United is Rice’s versatility. A defensive midfielder, he is also capable of playing at centre-back and as a holding midfielder. United scouts believe he could even develop into a box-to-box player in the future.
The youngster still has three years to go in his current deal at the London Stadium. Valued at £100m, United will need to shell out huge money in order to get their man. (h/t The Metro)

While Jesse Lingard could be potentially used as a makeweight, the Hammers are not keen to include Rice in any negotiations for the United loanee.
This could see both clubs work out separate deals involving the two players. Whether this works out in our favour remains to be seen.
