Transfer News: Manchester United face off against Arsenal and Tottenham for Andrea Belotti

According to Italian transfer news outlet TuttoSport (h/t The Sun), Manchester United will face off against both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur for Torino striker Andrea Belotti.

The 27-year-old is one of the best marksmen in the Italian top flight and has been a revelation since joiningn Torino in 2015. He has so far scored 104 goals and assisted 25 more in 220 appearances. (h/t Transfermarkt)

It is no secret that the Red Devils are in the market for a striker. Belotti is the latest addition to a list of targets that include Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Andre Silva among others.

Neither Kane nor Haaland will come cheap this summer and United face a fight against the continent’s top sides to land either of them. While Belotti does have an £85m exit clause limited to foreign clubs, he could be signed for much lower. (h/t The Sun)

An out and out forward, the Italian international can lead the line with aplomb and is currently in the prime of his career. He has so far scored 12 goals and assisted six in 28 games this season.

Long time admirers!

It is not the first time that United are expressing interest in Belotti. He was seen as a potential successor to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and also scouted last summer.

United have been too reliant on Fernandes and Rashford for goals

The 27-year-old has a real physical presence that could ease his transition into the English top-flight. A clinical player, he would prove to be an interesting acquisition for the Red Devils.

The team has been crying out for a clinical striker for some time now. It remains to be seen if Belotti is that man.
