Manchester United star Marcus Rashford faces a race against time to feature gainst Granada
Speaking to the club’s official site, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that Marcus Rashford is a doubt to feature for the club against Granada on Thursday.
The 23-year-old missed training on Wednesday and may have to sit out the midweek clash against the Spanish newcomers. A key performer for us this season, his absence will be felt.
Rashford opened the scoring for us in the first leg with a well-taken finish last week. A late penalty by Bruno Fernandes has ensured that the Red Devils go into tomorrow/s game with a 2-0 advantage.
“Marcus Rashford had to sit out training on Wednesday and is, therefore, doubtful for the tie.”
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been dependent on Rashford to break the deadlock in recent times. The Englishman only lags behind Fernandes in both goals and assists this campaign.
Rashford lasted 72 minutes against Spurs at the weekend before being taken off. While he may not have scored or assisted on the night, his presence helped turn the tide in the second half.
“I’ll have to give him as much time as possible, his foot is still a little bit sore, but fingers crossed he is available tomorrow.”
Not all bad news!
Solskjaer admits that the English ace’s foot is still sore as he continues to recover from recent knocks. The Norwegian already has to cope without Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay who are all suspended for the game.
One player who will return to contention is Welsh winger Daniel James. The 23-year-old returned to training after missing Sunday’s win over Tottenham Hotspur.
“Dan James is back. He trained this morning so he should be available.”

Another player who will be unavailable is Eric Bailly. Despite missing these players, the Red Devils still have enough options to see off a plucky Granada side. Whether Rashford eventually makes the cut remains to be seen.
