Manchester United loanee Tahith Chong considering his options ahead of the summer transfer window

Speaking to De Kraant van West-Vlaanderen (h/t The Metro), Manchester United starlet Tahith Chong has revealed that he is talking to his parents regarding his future at Old Trafford.

The youngster is currently on loan at Club Brugge. He joined the Belgian giants following a disappointing spell at Werder Bremen. The 21-year-old scored on his Brugge debut and has provided four assists in six Jupiler Pro League appearances so far. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Fierce competition for places at United has seen the youngster seek playing time elsewhere to continue his development. An extension to his stay in Belgium has not been ruled out as the player contineus to consider his options.

Chong’s career could be heading towards a crossroad and he will need to make a decision soon. He currently has one year left on his United deal and it remains to be seen if he features in Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s plans. (h/t The Metro)

“I would go home and discuss it with my mum and dad. Then I’ll listen to the pluses and minuses. Then we’ll work it out as a family.”

For now, his focus remains on Club Brugge’s remaining fixtures. He has an opportunity to prove himself and it remains to be seen if he will make the most of it.

“My focus is now on the two remaining matches and the play-offs. You will have to prove yourself there anyway.”

Chong has amde 16 first team appearances for United

Much was expected of Chong following his elevation to the United first team in 2019. He has since made 16 appearances for the Red Devils.

While there have been moments, there has not been a standout performance that has showcased he could be something special. Whether he will choose to leave or stay put and fight at United remains to be seen.
