According to The Daily Mail, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has lavished praise on Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford for his well-taken goal against Granada last night.

The 23-year-old was a doubt before the game after picking up a knock against Brighton last weekend. He didn’t just start on the night but also opened the scoring with a well-taken finish in the first half.

It was his second goal in as many games despite not being at his physical best. With Anthony Martial out and Mason Greenwood misfiring, Rashford has stepped up to the plate brilliantly.

United’s opener was thanks to an excellent assist by Victor Lindelof. Solskjaer was left in awe of Rashford’s run as he took the ball well before putting it into the back of the net.

“Great ball by Victor, great run and skill to bring the ball down like this we’ve seen it a few times before and that’s a top, top quality goal.”

The United boss took off his star forward in the 65th minute. With a crucial tie against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, it is pretty evident that the Norwegian wants his star man rested.

Solskjaer confirmed that Rashford is still some away from being fully fit. Hopefully, the breather will do him good.

“He’s not recovered from it and hopefully it’s not got any worse from this because he lasted 70 against Brighton, 65 now, so hopefully he’s ready.”

Moving on!

Ole believes Rashford will be ready to face Jose Mourinho’s side at the weekend. Having lost 6-1 earlier in the season, the Red Devils now have an opportunity to even the scores.

“I think he should be ready for Sunday and the goal is exceptional.”

A major talking point of the night was the five yellow cards the United players picked up. This will see the likes of Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay all miss the return fixture next week.
