Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals why he took off Manchester United star Luke Shaw at half-time against Granada
Speaking to MUTV (h/t The Metro), Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed why he took off Luke Shaw at half time against Granada.
The English left-back has been one of our standout players this season. He was once again in the starting lineup but was taken off at the halfway mark for Alex Telles.
Shaw’s time out in the middle saw him get a yellow card. This rules him out of the return leg next week.

Solskjaer has now revealed that injury concerns are what forced his hand regarding Shaw yesterday night. He, however, remains hopeful that the 25-year-old will be ready to feature against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.
“I had to protect Luke but I think and hope he should be OK for the weekend.”
Telles’ arrival in the summer has sparked new life into Shaw’s underwhelming time at United. He is not just enjoying his best season in a Red Jersey so far but has also played his way into the England squad.

Avoidable knocks?
Shaw was not the only United star taken off with a knock or as a precautionary measure. Both Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba were also given a breather in the second half.
While injuries are a part of the game, Solskjaer must also take a long hard look at his squad management. While Rashford continues to make an impact on the pitch, he is far from being completely fit and needs to be properly managed.
Hopefully, the urge to always play our best team will not hinder the long term future of our best players.
