Manchester United can sign Joachim Anderson for £25m
According to The Telegraph (Subscription Required), Lyon have named their asking price for Manchester United transfer target Joachim Anderson.
The Ligue 1 side are demanding £25m for the 24-year-old who is currently on loan at Fulham. He has so far made 25 appearances for the Cottagers, grabbing one goal and assist apiece. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Anderson has conducted himself well at Craven Cottage this season. Scott Parker’s side started winning games only after his arrival and he has helped them retain a fighting chance of surviving the drop.
It is no secret that United are keen to bring in a new centre-back in the summer. While a number of targets are being monitored, it can be argued that Anderson is one on the cheaper side.
Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur are also in the fray for the player as they look to rebuild their flagging defence. Whether both clubs will go up against each other in the summer remains to be seen.
Lyon has already received an enquiry from the Premier League for the player. However, it has not yet been confirmed as to which club was responsible for it.
Having played in 25 straight Premier League games, Anderson is getting increasingly comfortable in the Premier League. Signing him would ensure we have a player who is already familiar with the demands of the league.
Fulham too is interested in keeping Anderson. However, they are in no position to compete financially against us and will also need to avoid relegation to stand a chance. (h/t The Metro)

Phil Jones looks set to depart this summer while Eric Bailly’s future is also far from clear. Solskjaer is keen to bring in a pacy partner for skipper Harry Maguire and defence. (h/t The Metro)
Anderson is not a player who would get fans’ pulses racing. He is, however, a solid defender who continues to grow in strength. More so he is affordable and could prove to be a shrewd piece of business.
