Manchester United target Lucas Vazquez keen to impress in audition against Liverpool

According to Defensa Central, Lucas Vazquez is aiming to impress against Liverpool in the Champions League amidst interest from Manchester United.

The 29-year-old has spent all of his career at Real Madrid, barring a single season on loan at Espanyol. A three-time Champions League winner, he was a part of the Los Blancos side that dominated the competition in the recent past.

With his contract winding down, Vazquez has been linked with a move to England in the upcoming summer. Apart from United, Chelsea are also keeping tabs on the Spaniard.

Primarily a winger, Zinedine Zidane has largely used the player as a wing-back this season. He has thrived in the role and has garnered attention from United, who are keen on bringing in competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Having won a number of major trophies in his career, Vazquez’s arrival would add much experience and know-how to the United squad. The Red Devils have not won silverware since 2017 and are in need of rebuilding a winning culture.

No better audition

As a prospective target, a solid performance against Liverpool will certainly endear himself to the United faithful. A match-winning performance against the Merseysiders would look excellent on his CV.

The prospect of signing a player of Vazquez’s experience for free is not something that United should discount. The player is seeking a payday worthy of his profile and there is no reason why we cannot provide him with that.

The versatile Spaniard’s talents would be a major addition to the United squad, giving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer more options going forward.

This will be the first time that Liverpool and Real Madrid will face off against each other since the 2018 final. Hopefully, the result will be the same with Vazquez putting in an audition to remember.
