AC Milan look at Diogo Dalot alternatives given the exorbitant Manchester United asking price
According to CalcioMercato, AC Milan are looking at alternatives for Diogo Dalot, thanks to the exorbitant asking price set by Manchester United.
The 22-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at the San Siro outfit. He has so far impressed and has received more game time in comparison to that at Old Trafford.
The terms of the loan do not include a clause to make the deal permanent. While Milan may choose to make an offer, they deem United’s valuation to be too steep.
The Rossoneri have now turned their attention to Torino right-back Wilfried Singo, who could be available for €25m. But they do also have to contend with competition from Premier League champions Liverpool.
Dalot is one of Jose Mourinho’s final signings and joined United in an £18million. He never managed to find a place for himself in the club’s starting XI and has struggled with form and fitness.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the club’s first choice right back and United are also in the market for a new backup. All this points at Dalot’s time at Old Trafford being up.
Although Solskjaer has not shut the door on a potential return, maybe a parting of the ways would be ideal for all parties.
Everton is yet another team keen on Dalot. With Milan seemingly looking elsewhere, it remains to be seen if the Toffees will make a stronger effort to land him.

Dalot is by no means a bad player. However as seen with Jesse Lingard, some players are a bad fit for United but can thrive elsewhere. Whether Dalot is seen in the same bracket remains to be seen.
