Manchester United to assess Marcus Rashford ahead of Granada clash
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United will assess Marcus Rashford ahead of the Europa League tie against Granada.
The 23-year-old withdrew from England duty last month after failing to recover from a foot injury. He was deemed fit enough to start yesterday night against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Rashford grabbed our equalizer on the night before limping off in the 72nd minute. Given his issues with fitness in the last few months, it presents a worrying prospect.
United face off against Granada in the Europa League on Thursday. While Rashford has not been ruled out of the tie, he is set to undergo tests leading up to the game.
With Anthony Martial potentially out for the season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will need his No.10 ready and raring to go.
Rashford’s importance to the team cannot be undermined. He is the club’s second top scorer and assists getter this season. He has also been our most clinical forward, as he showed with his finish yesterday night. (h/t BBC)
Solskjaer being naive?
Speaking ahead of the game against Brighton, Solskjaer played down fears of Rashford’s injuries. While we are not saying that the Norwegian jinxed it, he will do well to manage Rashford’s game time better.
Rashford has had his share of injuries at United this season. In fact, he has continued to feature despite injuring his shoulder last year against Arsenal. His management team also dropped a bombshell by claiming that the player has not been in peak fitness for two years now.

Rashford is nearing 300 appearances for United and he has not even turned 24 yet. While his talent and importance to the team are unquestionable, the risk of burnout and injuries is a real threat.
The last thing we want is for naivete to cut short a special young player’s career.
