Solskjaer: Manchester United star Anthony Martial could be out for the season
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that Anthony Martial may be out injured for the remainder of the season.
The 25-year-old sustained the injury while on international duty with France. Martial picked up the injury in Les Bleus’ win over Kazakhstan and missed the win over Bosnia-Herzegovina.
He was absent for United’s home win over Brighton and Hove Albion and also faces a battle against time to be fit for the European Championships.
Martial, when fit, is United’s first-choice striker. Our top scorer from last season, the Frenchman has failed to hit the same heights this time around.
With Marcus Rashford also carrying a knock, Solskjaer does have some concerns regarding his frontline. Thankfully, Edinson Cavani is back fit and Mason Greenwood is also back in contention.
Greenwood scored the winner against Brighton in what was just his second Premier League goal of the season. With Martially now potentially absent, an upturn in the youngster’s form has not come at a better time.
With the season drawing to a close, the Europa League represents the club’s best chance of winning a trophy. Hopefully, the injuries will not impact our run in the final stages.

Martial’s form has also seen him get linked with a move away from the club. If he is indeed out for the season, it will be interesting to see if he has already played his last game for the club.
He has so far made 36 appearances this season, scoring 7 goals and 8 assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)
