Transfer News: Manchester United to battle Bayern Munich for Lucas Vazquez
According to transfer news from Daily Mail, Manchester United have joined Bayern Munich in the race to sign Lucas Vazquez. Chelsea are also said to be in the running for the Real Madrid man.
The 29-year-old has spent all of his career at Real Madrid, barring a single season on loan at Espanyol. A three-time Champions League winner, he was a part of the Los Blancos side that dominated the competition in the recent past.
A winger, manager Zinedine Zidane has largely used the player as a wing-back this season. This prompted United to earmark the Spaniard as a potential backup to Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back.
With his deal running out in the summer, Vazquez is free to leave the Bernabeu on a Bosman. Real for their part are keen to keep the player and have offered him a three-year deal. He has also been asked to take a 10% pay cut on his current salary of €3.5m per season.

However, United and Chelsea want to offer him an increase in his current wages. It has also been said that the player is in an advanced stage of talks with Bayern.
United do not have a clear run at signing Vazquez and are currently behind the likes of Bayern Munich. Whether we can come up with an offer that can blow our competitors out of the water remains to be seen.
