Real Madrid expect Raphael Varane to join Manchester United in the summer
Speaking on popular TV show El Chiringuito (h/t The Express), Spanish transfer expert Eduardo Inda has revealed that Raphael Varane could be on his way to Manchester United in the summer.
The French international has been a regular for a dominant Real Madrid side that has won numerous trophies in the last few seasons. He is now in the final months of his contract and is seeking a new challenge.
United are in need of a new central defender and in Varane, we can land one in his prime. With his contract winding down, the upcoming summer could present Real with their best shot at selling him.
“In the white entity they assume that Varane will leave the club this summer.”
Inda goes on to add that it is pretty clear that Varane is on his way out. He even went on to name drop United as a potential destination for the 27-year-old.
“Possibly to play for Manchester United, who have loved him for a long time.”
Selling Varane could help Real reduce their deficit. The Spanish giants are not immune to the financial aftershocks of the coronavirus pandemic. With them keen to land both Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, they need all the help they can get.
Unfairly targetted!
Varane for his part too has refused to commit his future at the Santiago Bernabeu. He feels slighted at being held responsible for the loss to Manchester City last year and believes the targeted criticism is unfair.
A winner both on and off the pitch, Varane would add much to the United backline. His experience of winning the biggest prizes in football could also help inspire a team looking to do just that.

Rated at £70million, Varane will not come cheap. But given his experience, he will be worth his weight in gold. Varane was a player United have kept tabs on for a long time. He even rejected a chance to move to Old Trafford after the Red Devils signed Phil Jones in 2011. (h/t Independent)
