Manchester United hoping to seal bargain €30m deal for Nicolo Zaniolo

Manchester United interested in Roma wonderkid Nicolo Zaniolo

According to Italian outlet Ilmessaggero, Manchester United are interested in AS Roma wonderkid Nicolo Zaniolo.

The 21-year-old is one of the finest young players in the Italian top flight. Unfortunately, a couple of cruciate ligament injuries have seen him make just a handful of appearances in the last two years.

Zaniolo is yet to play this season and is potentially out until April as he recovers from the injury sustained last year. It remains to be seen if he will play again before the season ends.

Given his injuries, Zaniolo is now far cheaper than he was prior to his knee ligament issues. United are hoping to take advantage of that and secure him for a bargain €30m.

United are not the only team in the fray for the Italian ace. Premier League rivals Chelsea are also in contention to land the highly-rated Zaniolo.

However, Roma’s technical director Tiago Pinto is keen to keep hold of his young star and is prepared to fend off interest from England. The current ownership is keen to make Zaniolo the face of the team complicating United’s hopes of landing him.
