Manchester United fans react as Harry Maguire leads England to victory over Poland
It was a game to remember for Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire as England took on Poland in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Three Lions took the lead in the 19th minute when skipper Harry Kane scored from the penalty spot. Although England dominated the proceedings, Poland drew level through Jakub Moder after John Stones messed up at the back.
The City defender however made amends as he provided the cushioned header for Maguire to drive home the winner, six minutes from time. The unstoppable strike was one that a striker would have been proud of.
Maguire’s winner ensured that England stayed on top of group I with a perfect record after three games.
The United skipper is an automatic starter for both club and country when fit. His performance yesterday was proof that on his day, he is a dominant force at both ends of the field.
