Manchester United star Daniel James stars for Wales in a hard-fought win over the Czech Republic
Manchester United star Daniel James is enjoying a good second half to the current season.
The 23-year-old started the season on the periphery but has since seen his stock rise. He has started in 8 of United’s last 10 games and has begun to make better use of his electric pace.
With five goals already this season, he has bettered his tally from the previous campaign. James can yet add more given that a significant part of the season is still left to be played.
According to The Guardian, the Welsh international has also taken his good form to the international stage. He was the hero for Ryan Giggs’ side last night as they defeated the Czech Republic in Group E of the World Cup 2002 qualifiers.
Gareth Bale’s inviting cross was headed in by James, who rose above those around him in the 81st minute. Having lost their first game against Belgium, the win is a much-needed boost for the Welsh side.
Wales are currently third in their group and could move to within one point of leaders Belgium provided they win their game in hand. In the grand scheme of things, James’ winner could prove priceless.
It was also a night to remember for Donny van de Beek too. The United midfielder came off the bench to score for the Netherlands in their 7-0 thrashing of Gibraltar.
Hopefully, it will convince Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make better use of him in the games to come.

United have struggled for goals in recent weeks. James’ goal will hopefully give him more confidence to go on and repeat the same for the Red Devils.
With the season nearing its business end, the Welshman could yet go on to make a huge impact.
