Manchester United star Luke Shaw hails man-management skills of Solskjaer

Speaking to Sky Sports, Manchester United superstar Luke Shaw has hailed manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for his man-management skills.

Shaw has been with Manchester United since 2014, having arrived from Southampton. But his time at Old Trafford in the past has been nothing short of a major ordeal.

Injuries, fitness problems and a falling out under previous manager Jose Mourinho have all played roadblocks in his career at Manchester United. However, Shaw seems to have rediscovered his best form under Solskjaer this season.

Acting as one of our primary chance-creators along with Bruno Fernandes, Shaw’s attacking game has hit new heights while he has been solid at the back as well. On the back of this form, the left-back has worked his way back into the England national team squad ahead of the Euros.

And Shaw, ahead of the international break, has opened up on the impact Solskjaer has had on his resurgent run at Manchester United.

“His man-management is second to none. The way he conducts himself in terms of how he speaks to the players, it gets the best out of them. You can see that. He deals with situations perfectly in terms of what is needed, especially at a big club like Manchester United.

In the process, he also seemed to take a dig at Jose Mourinho.

“He takes the pressure off the lads and takes it all himself. Sometimes it is not fair because we are the ones on the pitch and we need to take our fair share too. For me, especially, from what I had before Ole came in, it is a total difference. It has pushed me to a new level.”

In 36 games across all competitions this term, Shaw has contributed with one goal and six assists. At 25, Shaw still has his best years ahead of him and can grow into the best left-back in the league if he continues this way.

Credit where it’s due for Solskjaer as well, to have done what his predecessors weren’t able to do.
