Erling Haaland storms off for Borussia Dortmund amidst Manchester United links
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United transfer target Erling Haaland stormed off the field as Borussia Dortmund were held to a 2-2 draw by FC Koln.
The 20-year-old was the hero on the night as he scored twice for the Bundesliga giants. His early goal gave Dortmund the lead only for Koln to turn the game around.
Haaland once again had to play the saviour, equalizing for Dortmund to secure a point. The draw now leaves them four points off Champions League qualification with eight games to go.
A visibly frustrated Haaland tossing his shirt to an opposition player at full time before storming down the tunnel.
With Dortmund severely underperforming this season, the Norwegian’s frustration is understandable. He has been the brightest star in the team and has often had to win games single-handedly.
With the summer transfer window approaching, Dortmund could face a real struggle on their hands to keep him if they fail to make the top four. One of the best young players in the world, Haaland is not short of suitors.
A rethink of plans?
Haaland planned to spend another season with Dortmund before moving onto bigger and better things in 2022. However, his prolific form has sped up that timeline by a year. A lack of Champions League football could prove to be the final nail.
A number of clubs including United have been keeping track of the prolific striker. There is every possibility that Haaland could be the transfer saga of the summer.
With Mino Raiola calling shots, there sure will not be any shortage of drama.

Haaland is exactly the kind of striker United lack and need. The Red Devils do not possess an infallible scorer who can lead their line with minimal fuss.
Whether we can beat off better-placed teams to land him remains to be seen. He could very well be one of the most pivotal signings we will have made in recent years.
