Paul Pogba praised by Owen Hargreaves and Paul Scholes after goal vs AC Milan
Speaking on BT Sport (h/t Metro) after the win against AC Milan, Paul Scholes and Own Hargreaves praised Manchester United ace, Paul Pogba, for making a big impact off the bench and for deciding the game with his goal.
The Frenchman did not start for United as he had a lack of game time recently. He came on at half-time for Marcus Rashford and played down the left-hand side.
And within a matter of minutes, he put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men in front on the night and on aggregate. And Scholes praised the former Juventus midfielder’s inspirational impact on the United side.
“That man there [Pogba] really did make a difference. Not just his goal but I think he livened everybody else up… He’s different. He can create. He can score goals.”
Big impact
And Hargreaves piled on the plaudits for the 28-year-old French international. The Canadian pundit added what aspect Pogba brings to the team and how that helped them get across the line on Thursday.
“He’s always looking for the ball. Always wanting to turn on the shoulder. He made the difference tonight. He added that touch of class when Man United really needed it.”
Pogba’s goal came from just around the 6-yard box after a pinball situation in the area. He finished it high near the post, past Gianluigi Donnarumma, to fire United in front.
The Red Devils conceded a late goal at Old Trafford that left the tie at 1-1. This meant that United had to score at least one goal at San Siro to have a shot at qualifying, which we did.
