Transfer News: Manchester United have made the best offer to Nikola Milenkovic
Every passing day appears to bring with it fresh news surrounding the transfer of Manchester United target Nikola Milenkovic. Today is no different.
According to Italian outlet La Repubblica, the player has refused to extend his contract at Fiorentina and could force the club’s hand this summer. His current deal with La Viola runs until 2022.
The 23-year-old is among the best young defenders in the Italian top flight. A very promising player, he would be a shrewd acquisition for United.
The Red Devils have made a concrete offer for the player and have also met with his agent, Fali Ramadani. There are a number of clubs keen on securing Milenkovic and it promises to be a busy summer for those looking to sign him.
United are not alone in presenting Milenkovic with an offer. While there is competition, the Red Devils appear to have made the most impressive proposal. Whether this would be enough to land the defender remains to be seen.
The report goes on to add that United could make a bid of around €35m for Milenkovic. With AC Milan and Atletico Madrid also in the fray, the Serbian is not short of options.
Fiorentina could lose the player for free in 2022. Selling him this summer is their best chance of getting top dollar that they can then reinvest.
For now, it would appear that United are in the driver’s seat. Whether or not the same position will be maintained until the summer window opens remains to be seen.

The 23-year-old recently admitted that United legend Nemanja Vidic was his hero growing up. The former Red Devil was one of the finest defenders of his age and Milenkovic will hopefully take inspiration to achieve the same levels.
Heaven knows we could do with such a player right now.
