West Ham want to sign Manchester United Jesse Lingard permanently

According to Daily Mail, West Ham manager David Moyes hopes that Jesse Lingard stays back at the club after his loan deal from Manchester United ends. The midfielder has been in sublime form since joining the Hammers back in January, scoring four and assisting two goals.

While Solskjaer expects the player to return to the club next season, Moyes believes that Lingard will want to stay back. Moyes feels that West Ham’s rise to fifth place can be an enticing factor for the midfielder.

‘Jesse wanted to come here, right from the start. When I was talking to him he wanted to come to West Ham. He saw it as a really good place for him. I think he’ll have seen what we’re trying to do. He’s joined a good group of players as well.

We’ve got international players and I’m hoping we can add to that in the coming transfer window. The job is to try to add to that. But I would hope Jesse sees this as a good place if it’s possible to be done, and if we think that we want to do it at the end of the season.’

This season, Lingard was just given two games in the EFL Cup and another in the FA Cup. Honestly, things didn’t look too bright for the 28-year-old, with the club relatively stocked in positions he plays in.

The likes of Rashford, Martial, Cavani, Daniel James and Greenwood occupy the forward positions while Fernandes, Van de Beek and even Juan Mata have been trusted to play in the No.10 role. Let’s not forget that Amad Diallo joined the club in January and Facundo Pellistri is also on their books.

With Lingard making a blistering start to his West Ham career, the academy graduate should leave the club on a permanent basis. There is simply no place for Lingard at United.

The club could add to their squad in the summer and that would push Lingard further down. It would be in Lingard’s best interests that he ends his association with Manchester United.
