Manchester United unwilling to pay £150m to land Harry Kane
According to the Daily Mail (h/t Express), Manchester United are unwilling to pay the £150m required to land English ace Harry Kane.
The Tottenham Hotspur ace is one of the best strikers in world football and is a proven performer in the Premier League. In him, United could secure themselves the infallible scorer that they currently lack.
Anthony Martial has struggled for consistency while Edinson Cavani is ageing. Bringing in a new striker in the summer is high on the agenda and can be termed a necessity.

While there are a number of strikers on United’s radar, Kane is in his prime and has to be amongst our top prospects. We have had a long-standing interest in the player that dates back to the reign of Louis van Gaal.
Daniel Levy is keen to keep hold of his star striker in North London. As things stand any team wanting to secure Kane will have to fork out the mammoth fee.
Given the aftershocks of the coronavirus pandemic, United are wary of matching Spurs’ asking price. (h/t Daily Mail)

Despite notching up incredible numbers consistently, Kane is yet to win any silverware with Spurs. He could, however, break that drought in this season’s Carabao Cup, where Spurs face Manchester City in the final. Opportunities at glory will be easier to come by at United.
If the deal goes through, it will make Kane the third most expensive player in history. Kane’s contract at Tottenham runs until 2024, with him earning £200,000 per week. (h/t Daily Mail)

Financial issues could also force Tottenham’s hand come the summer. With their brand new stadium also still to be paid for, Spurs may seek to make cash through sales. (h/t Daily Mail)
Whether this will let United lower Kane’s asking price remains to be seen.
