Jack Grealish responds to Manchester United interest by making a joke

Speaking to UMM (h/t Mirror), Jack Grealish threw a slight joke regarding Manchester United and Bruno Fernandes. Rumours have floated around Grealish’s future with United tipped to be interested in the Aston Villa captain for a while now.

Continuing from where he left off last season, Grealish has scored six and assisted 10 in 22 games in this campaign. His form has propelled Villa towards European football this season but an injury to their skipper has meant that Villa are also struggling.

Despite United’s interest in the playmaker, Dean Smith’s side remains adamant that he is not for sale. In a recent interview with Harry Pinero, Grealish joked about the idea that United didn’t need him as they already have Bruno Fernandes.

“You upset a lot of people when you signed that contract. Including one guy, he was ready to delete social media. This guy was Harry Pinero.

Grealish replied: “Who do you support?”

“The team who you should have signed for in the summer,” was retorted.

Grealish laughed and replied: “You’ve got Bruno instead!”

Fernandes was unable to impact proceedings
United cannot afford to be overdependent on Fernandes

While it may look like United are well filled in the position Grealish plays in, his versatility means that he can slot in on the wings also. He added that he really does not care which position he plays in because he has a free role at Villa.

More Manchester United News:

United and Fernandes have struggles in recent weeks due to the absence of key players. A player of Grealish’s calibre would no doubt be a fantastic addition to the side and it remains to be seen if United do go for him in the summer.
