Transfer News: Paul Pogba could end up staying at Manchester United
In what will come as good news to Manchester United, Paul Pogba could reportedly commit his future to the club (via United. No h/t Mirror). The enigmatic Frenchman will see his current deal with United end in 2022, thereby leaving the club in a spot to cash in on him next season.
He has always dominated headlines with his occasional admittance that he wants to play for Real Madrid someday. His agent, Mino Raiola, has also never shied away from dropping transfer hints, the latest of which came last year saying that his client would be leaving in January.
However, he backtracked and said that a move in the summer was more likely.
During that time, Pogba was a vital part of the side that had climbed up to the top of the league. His absence due to injury is being felt by Solskjaer, with the side dropping points on a regular basis last month.
However, now it is being said that the World Cup winner is open to the possibility of extending his stay at the club and starting talks over a new contract. Even Solskjaer recently spoke about starting talks about his future.
“We’ve got a good open dialogue with Paul so what we talk about and how we see that situation remains between us. Our conversations remain private, of course.
But for example, Paul is a Manchester United player through and through. He’s been here in two spells. He came as a kid, he’s learnt about the history of the club, the passion of the club. He wants to do the best for United when he’s here and I think we’ve seen that.”

This is definitely good news given the form Pogba was in before getting injured. Without Pogba, the whole team looks short on creativity and Fernandes is left with more to do. The sooner Pogba’s future is sorted, the better for Manchester United.
