David de gea leads the way as Manchester United show their support to Alisson Becker
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker experienced a devastating personal blow after his father was found drowned near his holiday home in southern Brazil on Wednesday.
Jose Becker, 57, had gone swimming at a dam on his property and was declared missing around 5 p.m. local time on Wednesday. Unfortunately, he never made it back, much to the anguish of his family.
The Liverpool goalkeeper was close to his father and had earlier revealed in an interview how his father himself, a goalkeeper, inspired him to take up the position.
Well-wishers have cut across club loyalties to send their regards to the Brazilian ace. Losing a parent is never easy and the least one can do is show support.
Manchester United star David de Gea tweeted out his support to Alisson with the caption, ‘we are all with you.’ The Spaniard was also backed up by a number of United fans, who displayed similar sympathy with the rival star.
Rivalry on the field is well and good, but showing compassion where necessary is also key.
We take a look at some of the tweets made by United supporters to the Liverpool goalkeeper.
