Luke Shaw reveals the fastest player at Manchester United currently

Speaking to Sky Sports (h/t Mirror), Luke Shaw claims that he is the second-fastest player at Manchester United. He revealed that only Daniel James is faster than he is.

Shaw is enjoying one of his best seasons at the club. He has made the left-back spot his own, appearing in 28 games this season.

His contribution at both ends have amplified, particularly his contributions in the attack. The former Southampton man has already racked up 6 assists in the league this season.

On being asked who was the fastest player at the club, Shaw replied that is lot of talk regarding that. They check their speed on their GPS’s and there’s a lot of competition in that area.

“I think gold medal would be, of course, Daniel James. Then it’s split here. I think there are so many people who are similar. I’m putting myself up there. I’ll put me silver with Rashy [Rashford]. We can keep second.”

Luke Shaw has stepped up his game since Alex Telles's arrival
United’s full-backs have been brilliant this season

A surprising name is at third is that of Axel Tuanzebe, who hasn’t played much this season.

Much of Shaw’s resurgence this term has been pointed at Alex Telles’ arrival in the summer. While it was expected that the Porto man would be the first-choice, Shaw hasn’t let that happen. He claimed that Telles’ arrival was a real boost for him.

Shaw added that now there is competition for places all over the team and it’s good for the manager. If someone is not in shape or giving full effort, they can just be switched.

Shaw’s resurgence has been a major part of United’s strong season so far. After years of unfulfilled potential, the ex-Southampton ace is finally starting to deliver.
