Man United star sends a message to PSG sensation following heroics against Barcelona

Marcus Rashford sends message to Kylian Mbappe after Champions League heroics

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford was left impressed by Kylian Mbappe after the French wonderkid put Barcelona to the sword with a well-taken hat-trick.

PSG fell behind to a Lionel Messi penalty but as we have seen in recent times, a Champions League bollocking was on the cards. Mbappe scored a brilliant hat-trick to ensure PSG take the tie back home with a 4-1 cushion.

All three of the 22-year-old’s goals were immaculate and clinical. Rashford took to Twitter to praise what has so far been the performance of the round.

Rashford will be familiar with the Frenchman having played against him four times in recent years. PSG and United were drawn in the same group in this season’s competition but the latter failed to make it through to the last 16.

Mbappe’s contract at PSG expires in 2022 and there is yet no clarity regarding his future. There was once hope that United were in with a chance of signing him. It is fair to say that he may well be out of our reach now.

As someone who has gotten the better of Mbappe twice, Rashford too should look to emulate the Frenchman. A prolific scorer in his own right, the United star still can still develop further and evolve into a world-class player.

The 23-year-old will get a chance to show his ability when United take on Real Sociedad on Thursday in the Europa League.

With the stars of Lionel Messi and to an extent Cristiano Ronaldo on the wane, Mbappe could be on the verge of taking the throne as the game’s best player. Whether or not Rashford can reach the same levels remains to be seen. After all, one can dream.
