Manchester United ready summer bid for Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman
According to German publication Bild (h/t The Express), Manchester United are putting together a lucrative package to tempt Kingsley Coman to make the move to Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old is coming off the back of a season where he scored the winner in the Champions League final. He has made 24 appearances this season, scoring 6 goals and making 11 assists so far. (h/t Transfermarkt)
A prodigiously talented player, capable of playing on either flank, Coman was subject to a number of injuries in his formative years. It would appear he has left those concerns behind him.
United have already sounded out Coman’s representatives regarding a potential summer switch. The Red Devils are ready to perk up Coman’s current £140,000-a-week wages at Bayern.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a number of options in attack, but not all of them have repaid the manager’s faith. Mason Greenwood who has primarily started on the right, is expected to grow into a centre-forward while Anthony Martial’s future remains unclear.
Signing Coman would not only bring in a genuine threat down the flanks but also tie up a player entering his prime.
A lack of interest?
Despite Bayern bringing in Leroy Sane in the summer, Coman continues to hold his own in the Bavarians’ starting XI. The Frenchman is aware of interest from abroad and revealed just last month that he is focussing his attention on succeeding with Bayern.
With his contract running until 2023, Bayern are under no pressure to sell. While a switch to United will be a challenge worth taking, it is difficult to argue that Bayern are likely to win trophies right now.

The Frenchman has won league titles in his first nine seasons at PSG, Juventus and Bayern. Signing him in January would have been a good omen given our title credentials this season. Unfortunately, it was not to be.
