Manchester United among a number of clubs to send Jurgen Klopp condolences on his mother’s loss
A report by Mirror mentions that Manchester United sent a heartfelt message to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after he revealed that his mother, Elisabeth, passed away at the age of 81.
Klopp paid tribute to his mother in an interview he gave to German outlet Schwarzwaelder Bote (h/t Mirror). He also expressed his sadness at the fact that Covid-19 restrictions would not allow him to attend her funeral.
Elisabeth married Jurgen Klopp’s father, Norbert, in 1960. The couple had three children together; Jurgen, Isolde, Stafanie.

In an emotional tribute, Klopp mentioned how his mother meant ‘everything’ to him. He also mentioned that when the circumstances allow for it, a ‘wonderful commemoration’ will be held for Elisabeth.
“She was a real mum in the best sense of the word. As a devout Christian, I know she is in a better place now.”
United offer condolences to Klopp
Liverpool FC’s Twitter account posted a photo of Jurgen Klopp on Wednesday and accompanied it with a caption entailing the club’s motto, “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.
Replying to Liverpool’s post, Manchester United offered their condolences to the German manager during this tough time.
“Heartfelt condolences to Jurgen and his family, from everyone at United.”
Other clubs such as Watford, West Ham United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid also offered their support to Klopp.
