“Form of his life” – Man United fans on cloud nine as midfield star downs West Ham

Manchester United fans react as Scott McTominay leads the club into the FA Cup quarter-finals

Scott McTominay was the hero on the night after he came off the bench to win the game for Manchester United.

The Scot started on the bench but came on for Nemanja Matic in the second half. His entry brought in a runner from midfield gave us more impetus going forward.

After a dominant 90 minutes where United controlled possession but failed to do much with it, the match went into extra time. The breakthrough came in the 97th minute as McTominay hit Marcus Rashford’s weighed header first time into the right bottom corner.

It was a well-taken strike that reflected the confidence surging through the midfielder at the moment.

The 24-year-old is enjoying his most prolific season at United and has scored seven goals in 30 games. The winner against the Hammers was his third goal in three games as he continues to enjoy a mean streak. (h/t Transfermarkt)

It was far from a vintage United performance. However, we did enough on the night and are now one step closer to making the showpiece event at Wembley.
