AC Milan planning talks with Manchester United regarding Diogo Dalot
According to Italian publication II Milanista, AC Milan are keen on signing Manchester United star Diogo Dalot permanently in a deal worth €17million.
The 21-year-old was loaned out to the Serie A giants for the duration of the 2020/21 campaign. The deal did not include an obligation to buy and was a straightforward loan deal.
However, the Rossoneri have been impressed by the Portuguese star and are keen on taking him on permanently. Dalot has so far scored one goal and two assists in 17 appearances for the Rossoneri. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Although he is yet to become an automatic starter, Dalot has shown enough promise to suggest he can grow into an excellent player for the Italians. This is prompting Milan to reach out to United to work out a deal.
The Red Devils are keen to strengthen their right-back position and are keen to bring in competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. A number of players such as Kieran Trippier and Max Aarons have been tipped to make the move to Old Trafford. (h/t Forbes)
Any such reinforcement would create yet another obstacle in Dalot’s chances of succeeding as a Red Devil. As things stand, United are caught in two minds regarding the full-back’s future. (h/t Express)
Yet to get the ball rolling!
Signed from Porto for £20m in 2018, lack of consistency and a spate of injuries have seen the youngster fail to make a mark at the club.
Capable of playing on either
flank, Dalot’s versatility will offer United a number of solutions. At 21, he still has a long way to go in his career and could very well establish himself as a top player in the years to come.More Manchester United News

In Dalot, we have a player who has failed to build upon his potential since arriving at the club. He is, however, still just 21, and has the best years of his career ahead of him.
What the club decides to do with his long-term future in the summer remains to be seen.
