Teenage wonderkid Shola Shoretire commits future to Manchester United

According to Daily Mail, Manchester United have retained the services of teenage prodigy Shola Shoretire.

The youngster will put pen to paper to his first professional contract. His potential had attracted attention from the likes of PSG, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Juventus.

One of the best midfielders in his age group, the youngster is held in high regard at United. He could very well turn into a world-class talent, provided he develops as expected.

Despite turning 17 just recently, Shoretire is already a regular fixture in the United Under-23s. He has also trained with the first-team and has been tipped to break into Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s senior side this season.

Given the riches in talents that the Norwegian possesses, the very fact that such a thought is entertained is a testament to Shoretire’s abilities.

The youngster has continuously punched above his age category at United. He made his UEFA Youth League debut as a 14-year-old, the youngest ever for United.

Shoretire could soon follow in the footsteps of Mason Greenwood (L) and Marcus Rashford (R)

With a number of top clubs willing to take him, it was always going to be a battle to keep hold of the player. However, conversations with the likes of Michael Owen, Marcus Rashford, and Mason Greenwood convinced him to stay put at the Theatre of Dreams.

He could very soon follow in the footsteps of Rashford and Greenwood into the United first-team. Given his potential, one would not bet against him doing just that.

It was reported last year that Shoretire has the potential to be as good as Jadon Sancho. Having missed out on the Borussia Dortmund star last summer, the Red Devils may already have been in possession of his successor.

A long road lies ahead of Shoretire in his football career. Hopefully, he will go on to fulfil his potential at United.
